The Italo American Club of RI held their swearing in ceremony of the Officers and Board of Directors on Monday, January 19, 2015. Master of Ceremonies was Joseph Rendine, past President of Italo American Club of RI.

In attendance was US Senator Jack Reed, Congressman David Cicilline, Governor Gina Raimondo, Lt. Governor Dan McKee, Treasurer Seth Magaziner, Speaker of  the House Nicholas Mattiello, Rep. Arthur Corvese and Rep. William O’Brien of North Providence, Mayor Charles Lombardi of North Providence, Mayor Joseph Polisena of Johnston, Chief of Staff to Mayor Lombardi and former Mayor of North Providence, G. Richard Fossa and Judge Lauren D’Ambra.

The newly installed Officers are Anthony Napolitano, President sworn in by Congressman David Cicilline. George Lazzareschi, Jr., Vice President sworn in by Congressman David Cicilline. Michael Damiani, Treasurer, sworn in by Governor Gina Raimondo. Donna Folcarelli, Secretary, sworn in by Governor Gina Raimondo who also made notice that Donna Folcarelli is the first female to be elected as an officer of the Italo American Club. The Board of Directors were sworn in by Speaker of the House Nicholas Mattiello.

Over 100 people were in attendance and in accepting the Presidency Napolitano spoke about raising the amount for the members children and grandchildren scholarship program.  In doing so, Mayor Charles Lombardi, presented a check in the amount of $1000.00 and Michael and Catherine Grieco of Metro Honda of Johnston also donated $1000.00 to the scholarship program.

President Napolitano thanked them for their generous donation.

In closing President Napolitano thanked all the invited guests and members and their families.
